This year, our very own Helen (Chair of Trustees), Saf (Treasurer), Claire and Steph (Trustees) and Aisha (Cycle Coordinator) will be taking part in Cycle for Smart Works 2022.
They will be pedalling with purpose to raise much needed funds to support the women of Yorkshire into work.

Read more about their reasons for Cycling for Smart Works:
Helen Oldham, Founding Board Director of NorthInvest and founder of Fund Her North, says “I’m cycling for Smart Works as it’s vital we continue to offer our service, which provides unemployed women of Yorkshire with a community of people who believe in her, support her, and help her to be her best in an interview. Without the support of donations, we would not be able to provide this life-changing community for our clients.”
Saffeena, Tax Director at PwC, said “As the Treasurer at Smart Works Leeds, I can tell you that every penny raised really will help transform the lives of women across Yorkshire. If we can raise these vital funds, it will ensure that we can continue to help even more women in 2022, enabling them to get the job they want, and change the trajectory of their lives and that of their families. So that is why I cycle for Smart Works Leeds”
Claire, Director of an HR company, is passionate about helping people to achieve and says “I’m cycling for Smart Works Leeds, as I want to make sure we can continue to help women realise their own potential by helping them believe in the skills and abilities they hold within themselves”
Stephanie, Fashion Editor of The Yorkshire Post, said “The concept of providing a wardrobe and interview support for women is so dear to my heart. I hope that by cycling for Smart Works Leeds, I can spread our message of hope and empowerment for women far and wide, and raise the money we need to do more of this vital work”
Aisha, our Cycle Coordinator, said “I’m cycling for Smart Works Leeds as I have had the pleasure of dressing many of our clients for their interviews, and its an amazing moment when you see their confidence grow in front of your eyes during the appointment. Our 2 hour appointment really does give women the self-belief to get the job and change their lives, and we need to fundraise to ensure we can keep doing this for as many women as possible!” Aisha joined us on the Kickstart scheme as our Wardrobe Assistant, and as part of this process, also received a coaching and dressing session herself as a client, so it’s amazing to now welcome Aisha in her role as Cycle Coordinator, and on to the cycle team too!
