This International Women’s Day we celebrated by hosting ‘Her Path, Her Power’, generously hosted by the Leeds Marriott Hotel.
The event involved a panel discussion, hosted by Smart Works Leeds Trustee, Helen Oldham. Our panellists included The Right Worshipful the Lord Mayor of Leeds Abigail Marshall Katung, Tiffanie Darke, Tina Hughes and Zoe Hands. The panel was extremely inspirational, discussing their personal journeys in their lives and careers and how they have broken down barriers that have led them to where they are today. There were reoccurring themes throughout each of the panellists’ answers, that of showcasing your authentic self and owning your worth and knowledge. The energy in the room was electric as over 150 women gathered to celebrate their power. This was followed by an excellent workshop from Deborah Ogden all about your personal brand.
All of this could not have been possible without our headline sponsor Pinsent Masons LLP. Speaking on the event, they said:
“We feel so privileged to have been able to support Smart Works at what was a fantastic International Women’s Day event. It was truly inspiring to hear from a panel of such strong and successful women about their own personal journeys and challenges, and it was clear that everyone in the room left feeling motivated and empowered. We are thrilled to be supporting a charity that aligns so closely with some of our own key commitments as a firm: enhancing the confidence of women in the workplace; supporting our local community and operating in a more sustainable way to protect our planet. We look forward to continuing to support Smart Works however we can as they push forward to create meaningful change, remove barriers to employment and empower more women to enter to the workplace."
